It was this group of directors that shaped modern cinema as it entered the 21st century. their films were a resounding success, and it was they who became the founders of the "blockbuster" genre. The heads of major studios trusted young directors and invited them for filming, since it was they, coming from film schools and small studios, who knew how to fit into very "modest" budgets. A new era has begun in Hollywood filmmaking.

Another vivid example is the film festival "Open Night", which for the 24th year in a row opens new Ukrainian names in the field of cinematography and television production. "We. For us. About myself" is the motto of the festival, which carries fundamental for today theses regarding Ukrainian-language cinema. The main goal of the festival is to support national cinema, joint and foreign films that preserve the traditions of Ukrainian cinematography. A separate milestone of Ukrainian cinema is the screen adaptation of works of classical literature: "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" (1964), "Ukraine on Fire" (1967), "Stone Cross" (1968), "Natalka Poltavka" (1978), "Black Council" (2000 ) etc. Such films primarily convey the Ukrainian flavor: scenery, picturesque landscapes of Ukrainian lands, language diversity.
