Ukrainian film art of the 1950s-1990s in feature films is connected with the work of R. Balayan, M. Belikov, L. Bykov, V. Braun, A. Bukovsky, V. Gresya, V. Denysenko, K. Yershov, V. Ivanova, V. Ivchenko, Yu. Ilyenka, O. Itigilova, G. Kokhan, V. Kryshtofovych, T. Levchuk, Ya. Lupiya, M. Mashchenko, I. Mykolaychuk, K. Muratova, O. Muratova, L. Osyka, S. Parajanova, B. Savchenko, P. Todorovsky, L. Shvachka, etc.; in documentary cinema - S. Bukovsky, O. Koval, M. Mamedov, O. Shklyarevsky, etc.; in popular science cinema - V. Olender, O. Rodnyansky, A. Serebrenikov, F. A separate milestone of Ukrainian cinema is the screen adaptation of works of classical literature: "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" (1964), "Ukraine on Fire" (1967), "Stone Cross" (1968), "Natalka Poltavka" (1978), "Black Council" (2000 ) etc. Such films primarily convey the Ukrainian flavor: scenery, picturesque landscapes of Ukrainian lands, language diversity. Films based on the motives, or completely based on the plots of the classical literary heritage, supposedly remind Ukrainians that literature is easily used on big screens. Although the films have been shot since the 60s of the 20th century, their popularity has not waned.

Bertini, E. Santos, M. Jacobini (Italy), A. Nilsson (Denmark), V. Kholodna and I. Mozzhukhin (Russia), R. Valentino (USA); in an adventure film - Musidora (France), W. Hart and D. Fairbanks (USA); the success of the comic drama was associated with the name of the great French actor M. Linder, whose creative output had a significant impact on the development of this genre in world cinema in general and on the work of the world comedy classic Charlie Chaplin in particular.

Television (from the Greek ieie - far and the Latin iikio - vision) occupies a significant place in popularizing the art of cinema. Recently, it has become an important means of mass communication, without which it is impossible to imagine today's life. Television has its own genre structure, which it constantly develops and improves. That is why television is considered an integral factor in the cultural process today and occupies a special place in the life of a modern person.
