Modern Ukrainian war documentaries 2014-? In the conditions of the war since the beginning in the territory of Donbas, the annexation of Crimea and today's full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, a "cinema boom" has been observed. "Cyborgs" (2017), "Callsign Banderas" (2018), "Volunteers of God's Chota" (2015), "On the Line of Fire" (2017), "War of Chimera" (2017), "Debaltseve" (2016). And this is only a part of the tapes that appeared on our screens between 2014 and today. All of them are high-quality, dramatic, vivid, and most importantly, Ukrainian, depicting for Ukrainians and the world everything that happened and is happening during the war in our country. Today, it is possible to confidently predict an even bigger "cinema boom" that will happen after Ukraine's victory in the war with Russia. After all, unfortunately, there will be something to show. Moreover, not only Ukrainians, but also foreign artists will shoot. Bo Willimon — an American playwright and screenwriter (screenwriter of "House of Cards") — has already voiced his desire to shoot a documentary about the crimes and genocide committed by the Rashists in the Ukrainian town of Bucha. According to the Buchansk City Council, the screenwriter is already collecting materials while in Ukraine.

In general, the number of such festivals throughout Ukraine is immeasurably large. Odesa International Film Festival, Kyiv International Film Festival "Youth", Kharkiv International Festival "Kharkiv MeetDocs", "New Ukrainian Cinema" in Luhansk region, "Days of Ukrainian Cinema" in Lviv, etc.

A language issue During the 1990s and 2000s, domestic film companies actively cooperated with foreign ones, making films and TV series aimed not only at the Ukrainian consumer. The US film industry has developed a system of multi-genre independent cinema: both cult films and creative experiments by directors. As a rule, these are low-budget films made by little-known directors. "Independent films" are mainly non-commercial films that bring maximum profit to their creators, such as blockbusters, and therefore in them you can often see some creative experiments. Most often, it is from "independent" cinema that world-class stars emerge: for example, the debut film of the famous K. The appearance of scientific investigations, articles on the pages of such magazines as "Kino-Kolo", "Kino-Teatr", the publication of monographs devoted to certain problems of domestic cinema, became the basis for an in-depth generalization of the research of film studies and gave rise to the publication of "Essays on the History of Cinematography of Ukraine" under the auspices of the Institute of Contemporary Art Problems, Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
