During the years of its independence, Ukraine continued to be under pressure from Russia and its language. Let's watch the famous Ukrainian series: "Matchmakers", "Sniffer", "Female Doctor". The US film industry has developed a system of multi-genre independent cinema: both cult films and creative experiments by directors. As a rule, these are low-budget films made by little-known directors. "Independent films" are mainly non-commercial films that bring maximum profit to their creators, such as blockbusters, and therefore in them you can often see some creative experiments. Most often, it is from "independent" cinema that world-class stars emerge: for example, the debut film of the famous K. Tarantino was the film "Mad Dogs", which is now called a classic of independent cinema.

An extremely interesting aspect was chosen by V. Slobodian, researching acting schools in the cinematography of Ukraine. The author focuses on the work of theater actors of Les Kurbas in the cinema, which makes it possible to judge the contribution of the great director to the art of cinema, despite the fact that no film directed directly by Kurbas has survived. The actors of the Kurbasa theater showed themselves brilliantly in the films of O. Dovzhenko, I. Kavaleridze, and other famous directors, fully taking advantage of the lessons of their great teacher.
